Sonakshi Sinha won’t do wet white-sari scene in ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai 2′

The Dabangg starlet has bagged the role based on gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s alleged love interest, Mandakini in Milan Luthria’s upcoming sequel to Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai. But unlike the Ram Teri Ganga Maili sensation, Sonakshi will not expose

Those who grew up gorging on Raj Kapoor’s films (and enjoyed those titillating skin shows) will clearly remember the yesteryear starlet Mandakini’s wet sari sequence in 1985 movie Ram Teri Ganga Maili. The controversial star had bared her bosom in a flimsy white sari in a scene where she was shown taking a bath under the waterfall. Now, when we hear that Sonakshi Sinha is portraying the character loosely based on Mandakini, in Milan Luthria’s Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai 2 we wondered if the young actor had the guts to bare it all. And just as we thought though Sonkashi has given her nod to the role, she has refused to do those revealing scenes.
Just about a month ago Kangna Ranaut was on the verge of signing up for the role but, much to her dismay, the makers zeroed in on Sonakshi for the lead character opposite Akshay Kumar. Even as Sonakshi gears up to play the scheming moll in the film we noticed an interesting fact. This will be Sonakshi’s third film with Akshay Kumar. She has been cast opposite Akki in Shirish Kunder’s film Joker and also in Prabhu Deva’s directorial venture Rowdy Rathore. With Vikramaditya Motwane’s Lootera opposite Ranveer Singh indefinitely delayed, Once Upon… might become her third consecutive release opposite Akshay. When you have a superstar like Mr Kumar to share the screen space with, you don’t need to do frivolous stunts like bathing under the waterfall to grab eyeballs, do you? And the Dabangg babe is smart enough to know that!
